Lifestyle Adaptation
There are various factors that can impact an individual’s weight gain, many of these are extremely difficult to control.
These include environmental factors such as a person’s workplace, finances, education and family or community support and planning.
There are also personal factors such as genetics, hormones and metabolism that significantly impact weight.
There are however a few key factors that are within a person’s control and for some individuals working with a team of specialised and experienced healthcare professionals in the fields of diet, metabolic health and exercise can be the critical first steps towards achieving their weight loss goals.
It is important to note that unfortunately despite many individuals trying to adapt their lifestyle to achieve weight loss for many achieving long-term weight loss is extremely difficult, particularly in case of severe obesity.
These factors include;
- Diet modification through engaging with a Dietitian or Nutritionist
